Igor N. Iljin
Theory and modelling marine ecological systems, optimum nature management
Scientific career
From the pupil of a laboratory assistant (1949) to
the Doctor of Biological Sciences (present time).
The basic objects of ecological research:
Barn pests (1948 - 1949)
Colorado potato beetle and oak silkworm (1956 - 1963)
Sea wood-borers (1963 - present time)
Oceanic fouling (1967 - present time)
Scientific interests
Theoretical and applied ecology: the theory of ecological system, conceptual modeling, mathematical modeling of marine ecosystem, invasions of hydrobionts, bioindication, mariculture, oceanic and sea fouling, sea wood borers, cirrepedology (including limiting environmental factors, sensory mechanisms), plankton horology, ocean pollution, ecological forecasting, rational nature management, ecological bases for pests-hydrobionts protection and struggle.
