MAIN GOALS AND TASKS

The main task of the Laboratory is to elaborate methods and general problems of ecology, such as population dynamics, structural-functional set-up of alive organisms' communities, interrelations between organisms and their communities with the environment (which do not depend upon the actual biological and geographic features of the object); methods to organize research in this field.

Of great importance in the work of the staff are large applied ecological problems to be solved by means of the latest achievements in fundamental studies. Among such problems are those pertaining to nature conservation, distribution and establishment of protected territories, ecological standardization of anthropogenic impact, ecological monitoring; provision of production facilities to store, operatively process and retrieve the necessary ecological information, etc.
