Ruthenica, Russian Malacological Journal [ISSN 2307-7336 (on-line version), ISSN 0136-0027 (printed version)] is published by A.N.Severtzov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of Russian Academy of Science. The journal was started in 1991 and accepts papers, dedicated to taxonomy, morphology, phylogeny, ecology, and physiology of molluscs, as well as reviews in Russian and English. Title, abstract, authors' names and addresses, figure captions and description of new taxa are bi-lingual.
Since 2008 it is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. Ruthenica fully complies with the requirements of ICZN to printed and electronic publications. The journal is published electronically in 4 issues per year, paper copies are printed once a year.
