MAIN GOALS AND TASKS
The basic directions of researches are:
- studies of ecology and biology of rare "vulnerable" kinds of animals steppe region and development of scientific bases of their conservation;
- studies of steppe ecosystems dynamics at varying intensity of effect natural and anthropogenic factors.
The modern state of the bustard population in Zavolzhye is investigated, the scientific bases of conservation of this kind are developed. With the help of satellite telemetry routes of migration and place of bustard winterings for the first time are determined. Monitoring infrequent kinds of birds and mammalian is carried out.
Dynamics of steppe ecosystems of country between two rivers Volga and Ural is circumscribed, the high potential of a self-repair of steppe natural complexes in the investigated terrain is revealed, the necessity of regeneration of steppe on the little productive ploughed field and bad pastures is exhibited.
